I normally don’t make YouTube reviews, but I couldn’t help but share this stunning, beautifully illustrated hardback edition of Michael Ende’s The NeverEnding Story, one of my all-time favorite fantasy novels. In case you didn’t know, The Folio Society is for people who, like myself, adore physical books and tactile treasures in general (not just wealthy, snobby artiste types). While a bit on the steep side price-wise, what you get from this company holds real lasting value (they really did not pay me to say this, honest!). And in this uber-consumer-driven, throw-away society we inhabit, where nothing is built to last and everything is meant to be replaced, The Folio Society offers a great deal more value than tomorrow-it’s-junk-in-a-landfill iPhone. The books they produce can become family heirlooms to share with your kids and pass on to your grandchildren. My dream — now — is to see my work immortalized in such a way. Maybe someday. Who knows?
