Greetings, Aenya fans! I have decided to do something different for my upcoming project. I am releasing a production diary, starting with this one, because I am eager to share all the exciting news regarding The Magiq of Aenya.
So what is ‘The Magiq of Aenya‘? It’s the fourth book in the ongoing Aenya series and the biggest expansion to the storyline since Ages of Aenya. Call me old-fashioned, but this book will focus on a radical concept called . . . STORY!!! That’s right, folks! No more trudging through a thousand pages just to get to the damn point. No droning on and on and on about stuff that doesn’t mean diddly squat and does not drive the plot forward. Best of all, you won’t be needing a glossary to keep track of all the made-up names I can shove onto the page. But YOU ARE going to learn more about things I have only hinted at in my other works, like the Oasis City of Shemselinihar, the history of the Zo, and how and why the Fantastigates work. We will get a peak into Emma’s favorite storybook, ‘Thangar and Sint,’ and, last but not least, we will see the not-so-triumphant return of Ecthros, fantasy’s worst archer!
I am taking everything I’ve learned over the past 30+ years of writing and pouring it into this one. THIS is why I quit my day job, folks. I’ve gambled everything to make it big in the fantasy world, and I honestly believe MoA (working title) has what it takes to sit on the shelf with the best in the biz. No, scratch that; books published today cannot hold a candle to the classics, so I hope my work will someday be spoken of in the same breath as the classics (and not in a bad way).
My daughter, who’s grown up and studying art at the University of Central Florida, is my partner in crime. She has contributed a lot to this project in terms of visuals, and we are planning on releasing a series of manga-type webtoons/books as a supplement to MoA.
I am 82k words into MoA so far (longer than The Feral Girl) and not even halfway through.
